Professional Programme
Upon successful acceptance and registration, a Professional Occupation Permit, that allows an eligible non-citizen to live and work in Mauritius for up to three years will be issued.
Criteria to Qualify as a Professional:
It is an integral requirement in this category that the applicant produce True & Certified Copies by a Notary Public of his Professional Qulaifications as well as his employment contract with a local company.
- The basic monthly salary of a professional under a contract of employment should exceed MUR 30,000(=USD 1,000).
- Permanent Residency After 3 Years and the Right to purchase land.
- Non-citizens holding a Professional Occupation Residence Permit and may apply for permanent residence status after 3 years provided the following conditions are satisfied. In addition, the permanent resident can then purchase property on the island.
- The recent adapted immigration law permits foreign nationals who have been resident in Mauritius for at least three years and who are drawing a monthly salary exceeding MUR 150,000 (=USD 4,900) per month (or more) to obtain permanent residency.
